SeaWolves Drop Third Straight

The SeaWolves battled the injury bug on Tuesday night at Jerry Uht Park as they dropped their third straight game by a score of 6-2.

For the second consecutive game, Trenton struck in the top of the first inning. Abraham Almonte led off with a walk and he stole second. Ronnier Mustelier singled to put Almonte on third and he came home on a Luke Murton sacrifice fly to make it 1-0 Thunder.

Trenton added to its lead in the third against Ramon Garcia. Almonte led off with a double and came one home on a one-out Zolio Almonte double. Murton singled home Almote making it 3-0.

In the fourth, Walter Ibarra doubled with one out and Abraham Almonte walked. A double steal moved the runners into scoring position and Ibarra scored on a Mustelier sacrifice fly making it 4-0 Thunder.

The SeaWolves ended a streak of 12 straight scoreless innings in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Trenton went back head by three in the seventh against reliever Robbie Weinhardt. With two outs, Addison Maruszak singled and moved to second on an error. Ibarra singled home Maruszak making it a 5-2 game.

In the ninth, Abraham Almonte led off with a solo home run to center, his second, making it a 6-2 game.

Jay Voss (0-3) took the loss despite only tossing the first inning. Voss allowed Trenton's first run and then left the game before the second with an injury.

Brett Marshall (2-1) earned the win for Trenton tossing six innings allowing two runs on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

The SeaWolves wrap up the three-game series with Trenton on Wednesday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park.12:35 First Pitch.
