Hitmen to wrap up Regina Pats Rookie Showcase Saturday afternoon against the Prince Albert Raiders

Regina, SK - The Calgary Hitmen remain unbeaten two games into the 2015 WHL pre-season following a 4-3 shootout win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday afternoon at the Co-operators Centre in Regina.

Murphy Stratton netted the lone goal of the shootout, scoring in round four, to lift the Hitmen to victory.

Chase Lang, shorthanded, Lucas Cullen and Travis Sanheim all scored for Calgary in regulation helping the Hitmen build period leads of 2-0 and 3-0. The Warriors rallied to force overtime, scoring three times in the final 7:17 of the third period, including the tying goal with 9.1 seconds remaining.

Kyle Dumba went the distance in the Hitmen net to record the win, making 32 saves through overtime before stopping all four Moose Jaw attempts in the shootout.

Calgary, who beat Regina 4-3 in their pre-season opener on Thursday, was outshot 35-29 by Moose Jaw. The Hitmen went 0-3 on the powerplay while killing seven of eight Warrior chances.

The Hitmen wrap up the Regina Pats Rookie Showcase tomorrow afternoon against the Prince Albert Raiders (Sept. 5, 2 p.m.).

The pre-season schedule also features the first-ever exhibition game at the Scotiabank Saddledome when the Hitmen host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday, Sept. 13 in a 3:00 p.m. start. Tickets, $5 for adults and $2 for kids 12 and under (includes convenience fees), are available now at Ticketmaster locations and the Scotiabank Saddledome box office.

Calgary will then begin their 72-game 2015-16 regular season schedule with a home-and-home series against the Kootenay ICE. It begins on Friday, September 25 in Cranbrook before returning to the Scotiabank Saddledome for the Adrenalin Source For Sports Home Opener on Saturday, September 26. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
