
Americans Shut out T-Birds in Preseason Opener

EVERETT, September 4, 2015 - The Tri-City Americans shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-0 Friday afternoon at Xfinity Arena in the first game of the Everett Silvertips Holiday Inn Preseason Classic.
The Americans scored two goals, one shorthanded and one on the power play, late in the third period to secure the win. Vladislav Lukin scored shorthanded at 17:26 and Parker AuCoin into an empty net on the power play at 19:31.
Seattle goalie Taz Burman started and played the entire game. He stopped 32 of 33 shots.
Classic play will continue for the T-Birds Saturday at 3pm against the Victoria Royals. The Classic concludes for the T-Birds on Sunday, September 6, at 3 pm against the Spokane Chiefs.
Evan Sarthou started in net for Tri-City and made 16 saves before being replaced by Beck Warm midway through the second period. Warm had 11 saves in his half of action.
Tri-City outshot Seattle 34-27 in the game, which was scoreless through two periods.
After the Classic, the T-Birds next preseason appearance will be in Kennewick at the Red Lion Hotels' Preseason Tournament at the Toyota Center. The T-Birds will play the Kootenay Ice on Friday, September 11, at 3pm and face the Tri-City Americans on Saturday, September 12, at 7:05pm
The T-Birds will conclude their preseason schedule with a home game against the Victoria Royals on Friday, September 18, at 7:35pm at ShoWare Center.
The T-Birds open the 2015-16 season in Vancouver against the Giants on Friday, September 25, at 7:30pm at Pacific Coliseum.
The T-Birds home opener for the 2015-16 season is Saturday, October 3, against the Prince George Cougars at 7:05pm at ShoWare Center.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2014-15 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
T-Birds season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825.
