Medicine Hat, AB - Five times the Medicine Hat Tigers levelled the game with the Calgary Hitmen before the Hitmen were able to steal the game 7-5 with an empty net goal.

Tigers veteran forward Ryan Jevne picked up his 100th Career WHL Point in tonight's tilt when assisting on Tyler Preziuso's third period goal that tied the game up at 4.

Vladislav Yeryomenko struck first for the Hitmen 40 seconds into the game.

Midway through the period, Logan Christensen won the draw and Elijah Brown dished the puck out to Eric Van Impe who scored from the blue line. Van Impe's goal was his second of the season.

Shortly after Van Impe's goal Mark Kastelic scored his first of the night to give the Hitmen a 2-1 lead at the end of the first frame.

The Tigers started the second stanza on the power play and Hayden Ostir buried a rebound to tie the game up at 2 apiece. Ostir's fifth goal of the season was assisted by Josh Williams and Dylan MacPherson.

Tye Carriere scored midway through the period to regain the Hitmen lead.

Just over a minute later, MacPherson scored his first goal the season on the power play. Bryan Lockner and Williams set up MacPherson to fire the puck in from the point through traffic.

In the dying minutes of the stanza, Egor Zamula scored on the power play to send the Hitmen to the dressing room leading 4 -3 after 40 minutes of play.

The Orange and Black started the final frame on the power play and 19 seconds into the period, Zamula was penalized for tripping. During the 5 on 3 man advantage, Preziuso scored his 9th goal of the season. Jevne and James Hamblin assisted on the play.

Preziuso now has goals in the Tabbies' last 6 games and 13 points (7G, 6A) in the last 8 games. Hamblin also extended his point streak to 13 points (4G, 9A) in 7 games.

Jake Kryski scored midway through the third period to once again regain the Hitmen's lead.

Cole Clayton scored the Tigers' final goal of the night from the point. His second goal of the season was assisted by Hamblin and Ostir.

Newly acquired James Malm scored the game winning goal for the Hitmen and with just over a minute left in the game, Tigers netminder Mads Sogaard left the net to give his team a man advantage. Unfortunately, the puck was turned over quickly and Kastelic fired the puck into the empty net to win the game 7-5.

Sogaard stopped 33 of the 39 shots faced while Carl Stankowski turned aside 27 of the Tabbies' 32 shots.

The Orange and Black are now 8-7-0-2 and will return home to the Canalta Centre to prepare for a rematch with the Hitmen on Sunday. The game starts at 6:00 p.m. and there will be a team autograph session following the game.
