Calgary, AB - Ethan Anders made 34 saves for his second career shutout as the Red Deer Rebels blanked the Calgary Hitmen 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Anders made 16 of his stops in the third period alone when Calgary outshot the visitors 16-1.
Jeff de Wit recorded the only goal, tipping home a point shot on a first period power play, helping Red Deer extend their winning streak to three games.
Calgary outshot the Rebels 34-17 to see their weekend record drop to 1-1 following Friday's 7-5 win over Medicine Hat.
The Hitmen are back on the ice for their third game of the weekend tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 4 in a rematch with the Tigers. Game time is 6:00 p.m. at the Canalta Centre with the radio broadcast on Sportsnet 960-The Fan.
Calgary will then visit the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday, Nov. 9 before hosting Kootenay on Sunday, Nov. 11 in their final home game of the month. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at the 'Dome.
