Hitmen Stake Early Lead in 5-2 Victory

Calgary, AB - Riley Fiddler-Schultz netted a pair of goals, once on the power play and once shorthanded, to lift the Calgary Hitmen past the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Riley Stotts and Josh Prokop each tallied a goal and assist while Carson Focht rounded out the scoring for Calgary.

The Hitmen were aided by a dominant first period, outshooting Lethbridge 14-1 and outscoring the visitors 3-0.

D-Jay Jerome and Justin Hall replied for the Hurricanes who were outshot 38-17.

The Hitmen will now head into an 11-day Christmas break returning to action in Lethbridge on Friday, Dec. 27 before heading to Medicine Hat the next day on Saturday, Dec. 28.

The next home game for Calgary is not until Monday, Dec. 30 against the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the 'Dome for Allstate Canada Soccer Day which will include a soccer ball toss. It's followed by a New Year's Day game at the 'Dome against Medicine Hat. Puck drops at 1:00 p.m. for Airdrie Day. The presenting game sponsor is Southland Transportation.
