Winnipeg Ice News Release

The Winnipeg ICE are on stop two of two on this two game road trip through Saskatchewan. After falling to the division leading Raiders a couple nights ago, they look to get back on track in Regina. The Pats and the ICE have met three other times this season with the ICE coming out on top every occasion.

The ICE and the Pats first met on the third game of a three in three for the ICE which saw them defeat the Pats 5-2 behind a two goal night from rookie defenseman, Carson Lambos. The next meeting was at the ICE Cave where the ICE came out on top of a 5-4 back and forth affair. Most recently, the Pats visited the ICE Cave and pushed the ICE to the brink but captain Peyton Krebs secured the victory in overtime for the home team propelling them to a 3-2 victory on December 6th.

The ICE continue to roll with a 7-3-0-0 record in their last 10 outings and look to build off that tonight.

Following tonight's contest, the ICE will host the Brandon Wheat Kings on Tuesday, December 17th at the ICE Cave for their last home game before the Christmas break.

LAST GAME - 3-1 LOSS AT PRINCE ALBERT: Prince Albert opened the scoring early as Ozzy Wiesblatt tapped in a back door pass 1:35 into the opening frame to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Nachbaur made the lead 2-0 with under five minutes to go in the first just as an ICE minor had expired. The ICE saw themselves on the power play late in the first as Nachbaur took a double minor and Owen Pederson pounced on a rebound just 18 seconds into the first minor to cut the lead in half.

Some back and forth action in the second period but there was nothing to show for it. The ICE out shot the Raiders in the second period by a count of 9-8.

The third period saw the log jam continue until under five minutes left in the third. Orzeck was called for a double minor high sticking penalty and the Raiders capitalized on the second minor to make it 3-1. The ICE ran out of time and the five game winning streak was snapped in Prince Albert.
