Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen played host to a team from the B.C. Division for the first time since 2019 this afternoon as they welcomed the Vancouver Giants to Scotiabank Saddledome.

A period of special teams started the contest but both team found no success on their man advantages. Heading into the second scoreless, the scoreboard finally saw action with one from London Hoilett for his first career western hockey league goal. Vancouver tied the game in the third with a goal from Ty Halaburda at 6:34. Sean Tschigerl answered back sneaking one past Vancouver goaltender Jesper Vikam to restore the lead. Riley Fiddler-Schultz scored his seventh of the season at the end of the final frame. With the net empty, Vancouver was able to find the back of the net once more but it would not be enough, with the game ending in a 3-2 victory for Calgary.

London Hoilett earned second star of the game while Riley Fiddler-Schultz and his game winner earned first star. Brayden Peters made 32 saves in tonight's win.

Calgary now moves over to Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation for their next two home games where they will host the Victoria Royals on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday, Nov. 4. Both are 7:00 p.m. starts.
