Cougars Snap Seattle's Unbeaten Streak with 4-1 Victory

PRINCE GEORGE, BC- Two goals from Riley Heidt, a late goal from Koehn Ziemmer, and 31 saves from Ty Young propelled the Prince George Cougars to a 4-1 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The Cougars started the scoring for the fourth straight game in the first period. Riley Heidt tipped in his fifth of the season to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead after the first.

In the second period, the Thunderbirds tied the game, but Riley Heidt and the Cougars responded shortly after to give Prince George a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes.

In the final stanza, the Cougars got a late goal from Koehn Ziemmer, followed up by an empty net goal from Ethan Samson to put the game out of reach for the Thunderbirds. The Cougars end Seattle's nine game unbeaten streak, winning 4-1.

-Ty Young has collected victories in back-to-back outings

-The Cougars improve to 6-6 on the season.
