Calgary, AB - In a game that looked early on like it would be a goaltending duel, each team was able to put a few on the board but Calgary came out ahead. The Giants played the final 40 minutes with only four defensemen as Tom Cadieux was given a game misconduct and Carson Haynes left the game with an injury.
1st Period:
No Scoring.
2nd Period:
CGY: London Hoilett scored his first career Western hockey League goal to open the scoring 1:53 into the middle period.
3rd Period:
VAN: Ty Halaburda tied the game 6:34 into the third period on a rebound while he was falling down.
CGY: Sean Tschigerl restored Calgary's lead just two minutes later on a sharp angle backhand.
CGY: Riley-Fiddler Schultz brought the Hitmen lead to two on a breakaway with 1:59 remaining in the game.
VAN: Samuel Honzek brought the game back within one just 0:35 later, but it was the final tally of the game.
