WINNIPEG M.B. - The Winnipeg Ice storm back to defeat the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 Saturday night.

The Wheat Kings and Ice traded scoring chances in the first period but goaltenders Daniel Hauser and Carson Bjarnason stood tall to keep it scoreless after 20.

The Wheat Kings would once again score the first goal of the game with Nate Danielson batting the puck out of mid air and in to make it 1-0. The Ice would score a pair of goals to take their first lead of the game. Goals scored by Conor Geekie and Ty Nash.

The Wheat Kings would start the third period off with a pair of goals, one from Charlie Elick would fired a slap shot from the top of the right circle to tie it up at two, then Rylen Roersma would collect the puck feeding Zakhar Polshakov allowing Polshkov to score his first of the season off the rush to restore the lead for the Brandon Wheat Kings. The Ice would tie it up with Ty Nash taking off finding Zach Benson allowing Benson to score his 7th of the year. Then after Brett Hyland took a penalty late Connor McClennan would place slap shot through traffic and through Carson Bjarnason to give the Winnipeg Ice a 4-3 lead. The Ice would hold off a late push from the Wheat Kings to skate off with a 4-3 regulation victory.

The Wheat Kings return home next Wednesday night to host the Everett Silvertips. Puck drop at 7:00pm CST from Westoba Place in Brandon. Fans can catch the game on Q Country 91.5 starting at 6:30pm PM CST time.
