Hillcats score three late runs to win 5-4

Lynchburg, VA -- The Lynchburg Hillcats scored three runs in the last two innings to come back and defeat the Keys 5-4 on Sunday night.

The Hillcats got on the board in the bottom of the second inning when Neil Walker came around to score as Vince Rooi grounded into a double play. Steven Pearce would drive in Lynchburg's second run in the bottom of the third, with a single to score Brent Lillibridge.

Pete Maestrales helped cut the lead in half in the top of the fourth inning, as his single would score Mario Delgado from third base. In the top of the sixth inning Jason Fransz tied the score with one swing of the bat, hitting his 14th home run of the season off Derek Hankins.

The Keys took a 3-2 lead in top of the seventh inning when Delgado's single to right field scored Carlos Duran and Jonathan Tucker.

But Pearce would strike again in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run double off Casey Cahill to tie the score at four.

Lynchburg broke the tie in the bottom of the ninth when Lillibridge singled off Tony Neal to score Brad Correll, for the game-winning run.

Duguay (4-0) earned the win after tossing a scoreless ninth inning.

Tony Neal (1-3) earned the loss allowing a run on two hits over 0.1 of an inning. Kevin Hart, who started the game for the Keys, lasted 6.0 innings allowing two runs, one earned on five hits.
