THE HILLCATS...Continue a six-game homestand with the second of three games against the Frederick Keys at Lynchburg City Stadium...Won the opener 5-4 when Brent Lillibridge supplied a walk-off, bases loaded single off Tony Neal...Are 17-13 against left-handed starters...

TRANSACTIONS: INF Brad Rea was granted his release by the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday...The 26-yearold was hitting .254 with 2 HRs and 27 RBIs at the time of his release...OF Antonio Sucre will fill the vacated spot on the active roster...Sucre has not appeared since 5/16 and has been on the Disabled List since 5/22 (ankle)...

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: OF Mike Carlin was named Player of the Week (6/26-7/2) after batting .400 (4-for-10) with a HR and 3 RBIs...He becomes the third Hillcats player to take home a weekly award this season, joining 3B Vince Rooi and RHP Dustin Craig...

CLOSE CALLS: 8 of the 11 games between the Hillcats and Keys this season have been decided by two runs or less...Lynchburg has won six of the games decided by two runs or fewer...

RBI GUY: With 3 RBIs last night, 1B Steve Pearce now has 69 RBIs on the season between Low-A Hickory and Lynchburg...It is the third highest total in the minor leagues...The highest RBI total in the minors is 71 held by Lancaster's Mark Reynolds (California League)...The highest RBI total in professional baseball is 75, held by Boston's David Ortiz...

STREAK SNAPPED: LHP Greg Martin had his team-best scoreless innings streak snapped at 22.0 last night...It is the longest streak since Sean Burnett's franchise record 32.1 scoreless innings streak in 2002...In addition, it is tied for the fourth longest streak in Hillcats history (see graphic below)...

TEN OR MORE: The last double-digit run total for the team came on June 5th (23 games ago) in an 11-9 extra-innings win over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans...

STOLEN BASES: The Hillcats have stolen 116 bases (157 attempts) this season...It is the third highest steal total for any professional baseball team...Remarkably, the Asheville Tourists (South Atlantic League) have swiped 177 bases (256 attempts) and have six players with double-digit steal totals...

FUTURES GAME: Hillcats C Neil Walker was named to the 2006 Futures Game roster last week...The game will take place on July 9th at PNC Park in Pittsburgh and will be broadcast live on ESPN2 (7 inning contest)...Walker grew up in Gibsonia, PA and was selected with the 11th overall selection in the 2004 draft...

TONIGHT'S OPPONENT: Dave Haehnel, 23, is a 6-4, 180-pound left-hander drafted by Baltimore in the 8th round of the 2004 draft. The Wheeling, IL native split the 2005 season between Delmarva (A, SAL) and Frederick, going 4-2 with 18 saves and a 2.11 ERA. The University of Illinois product began the year in Delmarva and recorded saves in his first 7 appearances. In addition, he did not allow a run in his first 15 games, going 1-0 with 10 saves in 18.1 innings. Following the season, he pitched for Team USA in the Olympic qualifier. In his first season of professional baseball, Haehnel led the New York-Penn League in saves (15) and tied for 4th in appearances (28).
