Lynchburg, VA -- Mario Delgado drove in four runs and Sandy Madera went 2-for-2 with two RBI's, as the Keys cruised to a 9-4 victory over the Lynchburg Hillcats on Monday evening.

The Keys offense put nine runs on the board before Lynchburg could answer, and Fredy Deza tossed 2.0 scoreless innings to squelch any chance of another late inning rally from the Hillcats.

The Keys did not waste time, putting up three runs in the first inning. After Jarod Rine singled and Nolan Reimold was hit by a pitch, Mario Delgado hit a three-run home run over the centerfield wall to put the Keys in front 3-0.

In the fourth inning the Keys would add the to lead, taking advantage of another hit batsman. This time Sandy Madera was hit by a pitch before Carlos Duran doubled to center field to drive him in, putting the Keys in front 4-0.

Madera would get vengeance in the top of the fifth inning. With two runners on and two out Madera doubled to right field off Matt Bishop to drive in Reimold and Jason Fransz, giving the Keys a secure 6-0 lead.

Pete Maestrales would get into the act in the top of the sixth inning, doubling to center field to score Tripper Johnson. Later in the inning Steven Pearce's error on Mario Delgado's groundball allowed Maestrales and Rine to cross the plate, giving the Keys a 9-0 edge.

The Hillcats would solve David Haehnel in the bottom of the sixth inning getting the first two runners on base, before Pedro Powell singled to drive in Vince Rooi. Richard Salazar would come on in Haehnel's place, but allowed a two-run triple to Michael Carlin. Matt Meath would get Carlin across the plate grounding out to Salazar to close the gap to 9-4.

But Salazar would make it through the seventh unscathed and Fredy Deza came on to throw 2.0 scoreless innings of relief, as the Keys defeated Lynchburg 9-4.

Haehnel (1-5) earned the victory allowing three runs on three hits over 5.0 innings.

Dustin Craig took the loss allowing five runs on five hits over 4.1 innings for Lynchburg.
