
Hickey Invited To Team Canada Selection Camp For World Junior Championships

Seattle, December 3, 2007 - The Seattle Thunderbirds are pleased to announce defenseman Thomas Hickey has been invited to take part in Canada's National Junior Selection Camp from December 10-14, 2007, at the Father David Bauer Olympic Arena in Calgary, Alberta.
Hickey is one of 37 players aged 19 or younger from across Canada to be invited to the camp. He will be vying for one of 22 spots on the Canadian roster that will compete at the 2008 IIHF World Junior Championship in Pardubice and Liberec, Czech Republic.
Hickey is currently second on the T-Birds in scoring with 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists. He has a plus/minus rating of +4 with 20 penalty minutes.
Hickey played for Team WHL on Wednesday, November 28, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, in the first game of the Canada-Russia ADT Challenge.
He also played in all eight games for Team Canada at the Canada-Russia Super Series in early September. Hickey has four assists as Team Canada won this series 7-0-1. The tournament played in September was a eight-game tournament to commemorate the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and Russia.
Hickey was selected by the Los Angeles Kings with the fourth overall selection at the 2007 NHL Draft.
