Santorelli Named WHL Player of the Week

CALGARY, AB. - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Mark Santorelli of the Chilliwack Bruins.

Santorelli picked up nine points in three games during the week of November 25th through to December 2nd. He scored seven goals, two assists and was plus four, helping the Bruins to a 3-0 record in that span.

On Friday, November 30th, the Bruins hosted the Portland Winter Hawks at Prospera Centre. Santorelli picked up the 'hat-trick' netting three goals as the Bruins downed the Winter Hawks 5-2. He was also named the games 1st Star.

On Saturday, December 1st, the Chilliwack Bruins visited a rejuvenated Kamloops Blazers Club at the Interior Savings Centre. Santorelli scored two goals and added an assist as his Chilliwack Club picked up another two points in the standings defeating the Blazers 6-2. He was again named the games 1st Star.

On Sunday, December 2nd, the Bruins were back at the Prospera Centre in Chilliwack hosting B.C. Division rivals the Kelowna Rockets. Santorelli picked up two goals, including the game winner, and had one assist as the Bruins won their third straight, 3-1 over the Rockets. For the third consecutive game Santorelli was also named the games 1st Star.

Santorrelli, a 19 year old, from Burnaby, British Columbia, is in his second season of play in the Western Hockey League and with the Chilliwack Bruins. At the 2007 NHL Entry Draft he was selected in the 4th round by the Nashville Predators.
