LAKEWOOD, NJ - BlueClaws OF Herlis Rodriguez was named South Atlantic League Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday.
Rodriguez went 9-19 with three doubles, a home run, and six RBIs last week and became the first BlueClaws player to win South Atlantic League Player of the Week since Dylan Cozens in the week ending May 4, 2014.
The last game of last week, May 10th, Rodriguez went 0-3 against his twin brother Helmis, Asheville's starting pitcher. After facing Helmis, he had five hits, including his second home run of the year, over the next two days.
Rodriguez, 20, hails from Colon, Venezuela, and has been with the Phillies since 2011.
OF Carlos Tocci and 1B Rhys Hoskins have been Phillies Minor League Player of the Week while Tocci was named Phillies Minor League Player of the Month for April.
