Rome, GA - The Rome Braves were defeated by the Charleston RiverDogs Monday night 6-2 before a crowd of 2,430 at State Mutual Stadium.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Charleston scored four times. Dustin Fowler had an RBI triple, Chris Breen added an RBI sacrifice fly, and Devyn Bolasky stroked a two run single for the 4-0 lead. The RiverDogs scored two more times in fifth to extend the lead to 6-0. Rome got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run by Wigberto Nevarez (1) and scored again in the seventh on a triple by Joseph Daris. Charleston's pitching held the lead the rest of the way for the 6-2 win.
Dillion McNamara (2-0) picks up the victory for the Riverdogs while Rome's Seth Webster (0-1) is hit with the loss.
