
Herd Falls to Motor City Cruise

OSHKOSH - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, lost to the Motor City Cruise 110-107. The Herd held the lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Cruise battled back to go ahead at the end of the half. Wisconsin battled back from a 14-point deficit to be down by three at the end of the third quarter. The two teams went back and forth in the fourth quarter resulting in two lead changes and three times tied. The Herd came within one point, but the Cruise held on to win.
Lindell Wigginton led the Herd with 30 points while Sandro Mamukelashvili followed with a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds. Wenyen Gabriel added a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Luka Garza led Motor City with 22 points while three players added 16 points.
Wenyen Gabriel hit the first points of the game to put the Herd on the board 2-0. Lindell Wigginton scored the next eight points to put the Herd up 10-5. Sandro Mamukelashvili hit back-to-back layups to build the Herd's largest lead of the game to 11. The Herd held on to lead 32-27 at the end of the first quarter. Lindell Wigginton scored 11 points in the first quarter.
The Cruise hit five unanswered points to tie the game 32-32 at the start of the second quarter. The Cruise continued their unanswered run to go up 41-34. Sandro Mamukelashvili converted a put-back layup to end the Herd's three-minute scoreless run. The Cruise built their lead to 14 at half 64-50. Wenyen Gabriel and Lindell Wigginton both added 13 points in the first half.
The Herd battled back to cut down Motor City's lead to four. The Cruise was up 82-79 at the end of the third quarter.
Lindell Wigginton hit a three to tie the game 86-86 with ten minutes left in the fourth quarter. Dexter Miles Jr. converted a free throw to put the Herd up 88-86. The Cruise took the lead back 91-90 with eight minutes left. Brendan Bailey hit a three to tie the game again 96-96. The Cruise went ahead 106-99. The Herd outscored the Cruise 6-2 to come within three points with 20 seconds left. Lindell Wigginton completed a layup to bring the Herd down by one. The Cruise held on to win the game 110-107.
The Herd will play back-to-back and host the Westchester Knicks on Thursday, February 24 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
