Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (8-9) dropped their first game back from the All-Star break to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (13-5) 95-141.
The offense started slow on both ends of the court with Texas taking a 2-0 lead early and holding it for nearly three minutes. Trevelin Queen knocked down back-to-back baskets to give the Vipers the lead and they never let up. Facing a 46-75 deficit at the half, Texas never found their shot. Hitting a 35% clip to the Vipers' 51%, the home team went down 1-3 on the season series.
Feron Hunt led the legends' scoring efforts with 21 points, 7 rebounds while Carlik Jones added 17 points, 5 assists. Justin Jackson finished with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and in his first outing with the team, Anthony Mathis added 9 points, 2 rebounds in 16 minutes.
The Vipers had three players land double-doubles led by Anthony Lamb with 27 points, 10 rebounds. Queen finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and a season-high 5 blocks.
