The American Association announced its 2015 postseason all-star team on Monday, as voted upon by league managers and media members.
All statistics listed are through games on Sunday.
C: Vince DiFazio, St. Paul . In his second year with the Saints, DiFazio leads a powerful St. Paul squad into the playoffs with a league-leading .361 average and 82 RBI. His 17 home runs are tied for third-most in the AA.
1B: Angelo Songco, St. Paul . Also returning for his second tour of duty with the Saints, Songco is tied with teammate DiFazio with 82 RBI, tops in the league, and 17 home runs, third in the AA, to go along with a .339 batting average, good for fifth.
2B: Ryan Court, Sioux City. In his first season with the Explorers, Court has helped Sioux City to a league-record 75 victories with a .334 average, 22 doubles and 52 RBI.
3B: Josh Mazzola, Winnipeg . Mazzola has mashed a league-leading 19 home runs, and, in four seasons with the Goldeyes, is now fifth in American Association history with 69 career round-trippers.
SS: Noah Perio, Sioux City. Also a newcomer to the Explorers, Perio has started all 99 of his team's games at shortstop and is tied for the league lead with 127 hits, is second with 29 doubles, and is fifth in the loop with 74 RBI.
OF: Michael Lang, Sioux City. Now in his third year with the Explorers, Lang has stroked a league-leading 10 triples, is tied for second with 44 stolen bases, is third with 75 runs scored, and is fourth in the loop with a .344 average.
OF: Denis Phipps, Laredo. In his second year with the Lemurs, the former Cincinnati Red has appeared in all 99 of his club's games and is tied with Perio for the league lead with 127 hits to go along with 17 home runs, tied for third; 76 RBI, fourth-most in the AA; and a .336 average, seventh-highest.
OF: Adam Heisler, Winnipeg . Heisler, who joined the Goldeyes in 2015, is tied for second with 44 stolen bases and has a .328 batting average and 68 runs scored.
DH: Casey Haerther, Winnipeg. 2014's postseason all-star first baseman, Haerther put together another strong season, his third with Winnipeg, and is third in the league with 78 RBI and 126 hits to go along with 11 home runs and a .313 average.
P: Patrick Johnson, Sioux City. Johnson, who was named Pitcher of the Year on Saturday, has tied the league's single-season record with 15 wins, and is second in the AA with 132 strikeouts.
Relief: Winston Abreu, Joplin . Abreu, who previously spent parts of three seasons in the big leagues, has compiled a miniscule 0.77 ERA, allowing just four earned runs and 26 hits in 47 innings of work, and has registered 23 saves, second-most in the league.
