TONIGHT

The Heat play host to Pacific Division foe Tucson for a pair of pivotal games Friday and Saturday at Stockton Arena. The weekend is heavy with potential playoff implications as both Stockton and Tucson sit behind the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pacific Division.

The Heat and Roadrunners have split the six-game season series down the middle so far, each team having won three contests. In the last contest between the clubs, it was Tucson that emerged victorious in a 7-5 barn-burner in Stockton.

'THE DUBE' ABIDES

Rookie forward Dillon Dube earned AHL Player of the Week honors for last week's three-game effort which totaled seven points (4g,3a), two shorthanded goals and a plus-4 rating. The Flames prospect capped his impressive showing with a four-point (2g,2a) outburst against the San Jose Barracuda on Sunday. Dube currently leads all AHL rookies with more than five games played in scoring per game, clicking at 1.19 points per game entering Friday's game.

BIG ON SHORTIES

The Heat lead the AHL in shorthanded goals on the year after a recent stretch with eight scores on the PK over the club's last eight games for a total of 16 on the season. Dillon Dube netted the last shortie for Stockton, his first of four points in Sunday's matinee at San Jose.

COMING AND GOING

A trio of recent transactions has Stockton's lineup looking different than it did entering last weekend's games as Alan Quine and Michael Stone were recalled by the Calgary Flames and Curtis Lazar returned from several weeks with the NHL club. Lazar, the Heat's AHL All-Star Classic representative, has 36 points (16g,20a) in 46 games with the Heat this year.

DEJA FOO

Spencer Foo has quietly put together an impressive run on the offensive end of late with six points (2g,4a) over Stockton's last three games. Most recently, Foo contributed three points including a goal and a pair of helpers in the Heat's shootout loss at San Jose Sunday. The forward now sits at 32 points (15g,17a) on the season.

THE JUUS IS LOOSE

Defenseman Juuso Valimaki put together three points and was a plus-1 in last week's trio of contests against San Diego, Bakersfield and San Jose while continuing to log big minutes along the Heat's blue line. His pair of assists Sunday represented his second multi-point game in his tenure with Stockton, first since Feb. 1 when he registered a goal and an assist.

BACK TO THE POINT

Stockton has been able to tread water in the playoff race with at least a point in seven of the club's last nine games, winning six of those contests before falling on the road on Sunday in a shootout.
