HOUSTON TX: The Abbotsford HEAT has today made the following roster moves...

Delete: D - #5 Keith Aulie (traded to Toronto)

ADD: D - #5 Mark Mitera (on loan from Anaheim-NHL)

LW - #29 Shawn Weller (on loan from Anaheim-NHL)

Mark Mitera is a 22 year old defenseman from Royal Oak, Michigan, drafted in the 1st round (19th overall) 2006 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks.

Mitera started this season with the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL and has been loaned by the Ducks to the HEAT from the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.

In 32 games with Bakersfield this season, Mitera has 3 goals and 10 assists for 13 points and 50 penalty minutes.

Shawn Weller is a 23 year old left winger from Glen Falls, NY, drafted in the third round (77th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators.

Weller has spent the season with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL, scoring 18 goals and adding 28 assists for 46 points in 42 games.

Weller has also amassed 65 penalty minutes this season.

The Abbotsford HEAT will return to action this evening as they face the Houston Aeros in the Lone Star State. The next HEAT home game will be this coming Thursday, February 4th, when Chris Chelios and the Chicago Wolves faceoff against the HEAT at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre...game time is 7:30 pm.
