Binghamton Senators News Release
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 1, 2010) - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned goaltender Mike Brodeur to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
Brodeur earned two wins, including his first career shutout, after being called up Jan. 14 to replace the injured Pascal Leclaire (concussion). He made 32 saves in the Senators' 2-0 victory over the Rangers in New York on Jan. 14 to start the club's current nine-game winning streak. Brodeur then earned a 4-2 win over the Canadiens in Montreal on Jan. 16, making 30 saves. This was Brodeur's second recall this season.
In three career NHL games, all with the Senators this season, Brodeur has three wins, a.966 save-percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 19, stopping 22 of 23 shots in Ottawa's 4-1 defeat of the Minnesota Wild.
The Calgary native, in his first season with Binghamton, has appeared in 19 AHL games this season, posting a 6-6-1 record with two shutouts, a 3.02 goals-against average and an.892 save percentage.
The Binghamton Senators (19-22-3-1, 42 points) are seventh in the AHL's East Division and next see action on Friday, Feb. 5, when they host the Albany River Rats.
