Moose Notes

FEBRUARY FACTS:

Starting with Friday's contest against the San Antonio Rampage, the Moose will play 11 games in the month of February. Only four of those games will be played at MTS Centre while six of the match-ups will be against North Division rivals (February 12-13 vs. Toronto; February 16 & 19 at Rochester; February 17 & 20 at Toronto). Last season the Moose kicked off the second month of the calendar year with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Providence Bruins but finished the month with the club's second-best AHL February record at 9-3-0-2. Manitoba's best-AHL February record is credited to the 2006-07 squad who finished 10-1-1-0, while the worst second-month performance occurred in 2004-05 when the team finished 4-5-0-1.

PLENTY OF POINTS:

In Saturday night's 6-4 victory over the Penguins, 11 Moose players added points to their tally. Four of those 11 players -- Sergei Shirokov (2g), Matt Pettinger (1g & 2a), Jannik Hansen (2a) and Lawrence Nycholat (2a) had multi-point games. Travis Ramsey (1a), Mike Keane (1g), Marty Murray (1a), Marco Rosa (1g), Taylor Ellington (1a), Michael Grabner (1a) and Dusty Collins (1g) rounded out the scoring.

Upcoming Opponents

This weekend the Manitoba Moose and San Antonio Rampage will face-off in their first of four clashes this season. In 2008-09, the Moose finished 2-2-0-0 against the Rampage - winning both games at MTS Centre (Nov. 20, 5-2W; Nov. 21, 4-1W) and dropping back-to-back games on visiting ice (Dec. 5, 3-4L; Dec. 7, 0-1L). Historically, the Moose are 14-9-1-4 against the Rampage (9-2-0-3 at MTS Centre).
