Abbotsford Heat News Release

Rochester, NY - The Abbotsford Heat are right back at the Blue Cross Arena tonight, looking to snap a losing streak that was extended to three games with last night's 3-0 loss to the Americans. The Heat haven't lost four games in a row this season and have won the two prior games this campaign that had followed three-game slides.

Last night saw the return of Leland Irving, the debut of Brian Connolly, and the first game played by Akim Aliu as an official member of the organization (his rights were acquired via trade this past weekend), but in the end the club was shutout for the second straight game.

The Heat, who sat in first spot in the AHL's Western Conference at the 38 game mid-season mark, now sit a dozen points back of the West leading Oklahoma City Barons through 45 games. Abbotsford is three points back of the second place Houston Aeros in the West Division and three points up on the San Antonio Rampage. Rochester is now three points back of the North Division leading Toronto Marlies who the Heat will face tomorrow.

Tonight's contest can be heard on Country 107.1 from 5:00 PM on, and in its entirety online at theAHL.com with the pre-game show beginning at 4:15, and puck drop slated for 4:30. Tomorrow's tilt in Toronto is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PST.
