
Monarchs Best B-Sens in Overtime, 3-2

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Binghamton Senators began a four game road trip in Manchester on Friday night against the Monarchs. Marc- Andre Cliché scored on the power play at 3:37 of overtime to clinch a 3-2 victory for the Monarchs and effectively end a four-game win streak for the B-Sens.
The Monarchs were first to get on the board in the opening period as rookie right wing Linden Vey scored his 12th goal of the year at 13:45. Jake Muzzin and Brandon Kozun assisted on the play.
The B-Sens tied the game at 17:39 of the second period, capitalizing on a five-on-three power play. Mike Hoffman scored his team-leading seventh power play goal to tie the game at one. Assists on the play went to Corey Locke and Stephane Da Costa.
Dwight King put the Monarchs back on top in the third period as he scored his 11th goal of the year at the 14:17 mark assisted by Kozun and Vey.
Fourteen seconds later the B-Sens tied the game at two as Jack Downing scored his second goal in as many games off a feed from Hoffman. Dan Henningson also drew an assist on the goal.
Binghamton ended the evening 1-for-7 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
Mike McKenna started in goal for the B-Sens, making 26 saves as he fell to 13-13-0 on the season. Jeff Zatkoff made 30 saves for the Monarchs to improve to 14-8-1.
The B-Sens look to rebound tomorrow night as they travel to Portland to face the Pirates at 7 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts Countdown to Faceoff.
