
MacDonald Recalled by Detroit

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Friday recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald from the Grand Rapids Griffins and reassigned goaltender Jordan Pearce from the ECHL's Toledo Walleye to the Griffins.
A native of Pictou, Nova Scotia, MacDonald has posted an 11-11-3 record, a 2.63 goals against average and a 0.913 save percentage in 26 appearances with the Griffins this season. MacDonald ranks first among the Griffins' all-time goaltending leaders with 210 games played, 109 wins, 20 shutouts and 5,352 saves. He has also appeared in 87 NHL games, showing a 23-42-12 record with a 3.19 goals against average and two shutouts.
Pearce returns to the Griffins after being assigned to Toledo on Thursday. He has been out of the lineup since injuring his ankle on Dec. 30 versus Peoria. The Alaska, Anchorage, native has registered a 1-6-1 record this season with a 3.42 goals against average and a 0.877 save percentage.
Grand Rapids will be back in action tonight as it opens a season-high five-game homestand against the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
