Stockton Heat News Release

Stockton, Calif - The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the Calgary Flames, announce today that the team has activated team captain Aaron Johnson after his loan to Team Canada for the 2015 Spengler Cup while also loaning goalie Kent Simpson to their ECHL affiliate, the Adirondack Thunder.

Johnson, 32, returns from Davos, Switzerland where he played a big part in Team Canada's 13th Spengler Cup victory and first since 2012. The defenseman led Team Canada in average time-on-ice during the four games of the tournament Canada played and also picked up an assist on the Spengler Cup clinching goal.

Simpson, 23, has played in 7 games with the Stockton Heat this year while also having played 2 games with the Adirondack Thunder in late October.

Stockton heads to the road this week with a midweek clash at the SAP Center in San Jose with the Barracuda, followed by a trip to Southern California on Friday against the Ontario Reign. The Heat return to Stockton Arena on Wednesday, January 13 for a 7 o'clock game against the San Antonio Rampage, the first time the team will make the trip to Stockton.
