Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have acquired F Jake Hauswirth from the Ontario Reign for future considerations.

Hauswirth (6-5, 215 lbs.) has played 26 games for the Ontario Reign this season, scoring three goals and adding two assists for five points along with 16 PIM. He also appeared in one game for the Fort Wayne Komets. Last season, Hauswirth skated in 44 games for the Arizona Sundogs of the CHL, scoring 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists, and notched one goal in six games with Ontario. He split the 2011-12 season between the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in the CHL (6 goals, 16 assists) and Idaho Steelheads (2 goals, 1 assist), and played the entire 2010-11 season in the ECHL with South Carolina and Cincinnati. In 49 games between the two clubs, he tallied 12 goals and six assists for 18 points. He made his professional debut with the Stingrays in 2009-10, finishing fifth on the team with 44 points (17 goals, 27 assists).

A native of Houghton, MI, Hauswirth played two seasons (2007-09) for the Omaha Lancers in the USHL where he recorded 41 goals and 34 assists for 75 points in 115 games over the two seasons. In 2006-07, he played 55 games for the Marquette Rangers in the NAHL, scoring 21 goals and adding 19 assists for 40 points.
