TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: With the Eastern Conference race as close as ever, the Cyclones will look for a big pair of points against the defending Kelly Cup Champion Reading Royals. Coming into the week, just three points separate the two long time foes while just six points separate the second place and eighth place teams. Against the Royals this season, the Clones have amassed a 3-0 record while out-scoring them 13-3 in that stretch.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS: Larry Courville's club has surged to eight wins out of their last ten games and rank fourth in the East. Royals captain Yannick Tifu has risen to the top of the team's scoring leaderboard with 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists) in 38 games this season - although he's been held without a point in three consecutive tilts. Ryan Cruthers has proven to be dangerous as well; in just 20 contests, he's collected 27 tallies (10 goals, 17 assists) and a +6 rating. Riley Gill and Brandon Anderson have split the workload in net for Reading. Gill is 10-7-0 with a 2.28 goals-against average while Anderson, who has started three of the last four games, has amassed an 11-7-1 mark and a 2.58 GAA.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: JANUARY 4, 2014: A three-point night by Jack Combs and a lights-out performance from goaltender Joe Howe lifted the Cincinnati Cyclones past the Royals by a 6-2 final score in front of a near sellout crowd of 13,237 at U.S. Bank Arena.

Shalla's Shelling: Cyclones forward Josh Shalla has collected three goals over the last two games for Cincinnati, including a game-winner on Saturday night. He's earned points in all but three games this season.

A Dangerous Trio: Of late, the hottest line for the Cyclones has consisted of Josh Shalla, Paul Crowder, and Anthony Luciani. This top offensive line has combined for 10 points in their last three games.
