
Hartinger Named To All-CHL Team

[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-New Mexico Scorpions captain Vladimir Hartinger has been named to the All-CHL Team. He joins forwards Alexander Leavitt, Jeff Bes, and Brett Cullaton, defenseman Aaron Sckneekloth and goalie John DeCaro as the six named to the prestigious team.
Hartinger is having his best year in professional hockey. He leads all league defenseman with 58 points, including 39 assists. His 19 goals are second among fellow blue liners, two behind Colorado 's Schneekloth. He is also among the top 10 defenseman with his +19 plus/minus rating.
"It is an honor to be named to the All-CHL Team," said Hartinger. "I look forward to continuing the great season and know our team is ready for a big playoff run.
The Scorpions organizational record books have also been rewritten this season, courtesy of Hartinger. The Albuquerque resident has scored 142 points, most by any Scorpions defenseman in a career. He has also played in 251 games while wearing the Scorpions sweater, second most all-time.
"Vladi has been a great leader for us on and off the ice all season," said head coach Randy Murphy. "He is well deserving of this award as he is one of the top defenseman in the CHL."
New Mexico returns home on Tuesday, March 18th to face the Arizona Sundogs. Come see the Scorpions take on their rivals. The Sundogs currently sit three points ahead of the Scorpions for first place in the Southwest Division.
The final regular season home game is Saturday, March 22nd when Amarillo visits the Santa Ana Star Center. It will be "Fan Appreciation Night" with a chance to win $10,000 in cash, airline tickets or a beautiful safe filled with prizes.
