Americans' Chet Pickard Named ADT CHL Goaltender Of The Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Chet Pickard of the Tri City Americans is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 3-0-0-0 record along a 1.33 goals against average and .953 save percentage in three games last week.

Pickard started the week with 23 saves in a 3-1 win over the Everett Silvertips on Wednesday. He allowed two goals on 27 shots in a 4-2 win over the Kelowna Rockets on Friday and finished the week with 28 saves in a 2-1 win over the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday that helped the Americans clinch the Scotty Munro Trophy as the WHL's regular season champions.

Pickard, an 18-year-old native of Winnipeg, MB, improved to 46-12-2-2 with a 2.32 goals against average and .918 save percentage in 64 games this season. He was the top rated goaltender in the Central Scouting mid-term rankings for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Adam Courchaine of the Ottawa 67's was the OHL nominee after posting a 2-1-0-0 record with a 1.33 goals against average and .961 save percentage and Bobby Nadeau of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens was the QMJHL nominee after going 2-0-0-0 with a 1.50 goals against average and .953 save percentage in two games last week.
