CHL Announces 2007-08 All-CHL Team

March 18, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release


The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today the six member All-CHL team for the 2007-08 season, selected through balloting of all 17 head coaches. Making the team as forwards are Laredo's Jeff Bes, Rocky Mountain's Brent Cullaton and Arizona's Alex Leavitt. The defensemen are New Mexico's Vladimir Hartinger and Colorado's Aaron Schneekloth and the goaltender is Bossier-Shreveport's John DeCaro.

All three forwards on the All-CHL team are finalists for the CHL Most Valuable Player award (to be announced on Monday, March 24th). Leavitt is closing in on winning the Joe Burton award (CHL regular season scoring champion). He currently leads the league with 115 points and 80 assists. Bes is second in scoring with 102 points (44-58=102) and Cullaton is fourth with 92 points (21-71=92).

Both defensemen on the team are finalists for the CHL Outstanding Defensemen award with Hartinger leading all blue liners with 58 points (19-39=58) and Schneekloth ranking second with 56 points and first with 21 goals.

DeCaro earns All-CHL honors for the second consecutive season posting a 25-6-3 record with a league best 1.67 goals against average and a .940 save percentage. He has already set the CHL single-season record with 11 shutouts and his GAA and save percentage are both on pace to break CHL records.
