Hartford Athletic News Release

HARTFORD, Conn. - Hartford Athletic announced today that it will team up with Founding Partner Cigna to launch the "Every Save Matters" philanthropic campaign and will host Body and Mind Day on August 10th.

"As our partnership continues to blossom, we are excited to join forces with Cigna to raise money for a truly wonderful and important community organization," said Jordan Charlupski, VP, Revenue & Strategic Initiatives of Hartford Athletic. "Our Club's mission is to 'grow our community through the Beautiful Game,' and benefiting an incredible nonprofit like Team Impact together with Cigna helps us achieve this goal."

Cigna will serve as the presenting sponsor of the "Every Save Matters" program, and will donate $75 for every Hartford Athletic save, retroactive for the entire 2019 season. The proceeds will benefit Team Impact, a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes.

Thus far, Cigna has committed over $6,500 to Team Impact as Hartford Athletic Goalkeepers Frederik Due, Jacob Lissek, and John Kempin have combined for 87 saves during the 2019 USL Championship season.

"It's certainly been an exciting inaugural season for Hartford Athletic so far, and we've been thrilled to be part of it," said Wendy Sherry, president of Cigna's Connecticut market. "We're also thrilled to keep that excitement going with the Every Save Matters program to benefit some very deserving children."

In addition, Cigna will serve as the presenting sponsor of "Body and Mind Day" on August 10th, 2019. "The event, intended to promote body and mind health, will include a pregame workout and yoga on-field and remarks from Cigna representatives and club partners. Cigna's Health Improvement Tour will be on site to provide free health screenings for our fans so they can 'know their numbers' for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and body mass index," said Charlupski.
