Harrisburg Senators News Release
Today's Game... The Senators look to rebound from last night's loss to the Curve in game three of the series this evening. LHP Oscar Alvarez will be on the mound for the Senators, coming off his best start of the season. His opponent is RHP Kip Wells making a MLB Rehab start for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Senators are gunning for their fourth series win in a row. They have won their past three series' (Binghamton on the road, and Connecticut and New Britain at home).
Last Time Out... One night after the two teams played a slugfest, they played a pitchers duel interrupted by a little rain with Altoona winning 2-1. The Senators scored a run in the first inning when Melvin Dorta walked, stole second, went to third on a throwing error then scored on a ground out by Kory Casto. And that was the Sens would push across the plate. Kip Bouknight pitched well, allowing just a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but unfortunately for Kip he took the loss. Prentice Redman continued his hot streak with two hits and has run his hitting streak to ten games. Frank Diaz also chipped in two hits and continues his recent surge.
League Leaders... Melvin Dorta (.303) is sixth in the league in hitting and Salomon Manriquez (.301) is eighth in the league in batting... Kory Casto (45) is the Eastern League leader in RBIs...
