New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Portland - Jon Harris worked seven strong innings as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) earned a split of a four-game series in Portland with a 3-1 win over the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox) on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.
Harris (W, 7-3), selected by the Blue Jays in the first round of the 2015 draft, allowed only three hits, retiring the final 16 batters he faced in winning his sixth consecutive decision. He worked out of a bases loaded, one out jam in the first inning without allowing a run before Deiner Lopez homered in the second to give Portland a 1-0 lead.
New Hampshire (51-40) tied the game on a delayed double steal in the top of the fifth inning. Andrew Guillotte doubled, moved to third when Gunnar Heidt reached on an error. Guillotte stole home to tie the game. The Fisher Cats moved in front in the next frame when Eduard Pinto, who reached on a bunt single, scored on a triple by Cavan Biggio.
The Fisher Cats scored in a third consecutive inning in the top of the seventh. Guillotte singled and Gunnar Heidt ripped an RBI double. Guillotte finished 2-for-4, his second consecutive multi-hit game for New Hampshire.
Danny Young (S, 2) worked the final two innings for his second save.
The Fisher Cats return to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium on Monday to open a series with the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees). Join us as we recognize participants in the 2018 Summer Reading All-Stars, presented by Grappone Automotive Group. For tickets, visit nhfishercats.com.
