
Hammel, Bulls Shut Down Lynx

Durham, NC - RHP Jason Hammel (3-5) threw a complete game shutout and the Bulls slugged four home runs to power past the Ottawa Lynx, 8-0 on Monday evening at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Bulls got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning as Justin Ruggiano and Dustan Mohr homered as part of a four-run outburst. Ben Zobrist hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to make it 5-0, then Elliot Johnson hit a two-run homer in the sixth to give the Bulls a 7-0 lead. Durham would add another run in the seventh inning to round out the scoring..
Hammel allowed just five hits and no walks while striking out six for the Bulls first complete game of the season and the second shutout win in as many days. RHP Bubba Nelson (0-1) took the loss for the Lynx in his first start with the team, pitching five innings allowing five runs off of seven hits and two walks.
