
Andy Marte Optioned to Buffalo, Perez Recalled

The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have recalled LHP Rafael Perez from the Bisons and optioned infielder Andy Marte to Buffalo.
Marte played 10 games with the Bisons this year as part of a Major League rehabilitation assignment, April 29-May 19. He hit .242 (8-33) for the Herd with two home runs and three RBI. He went a perfect 4-4 with a home run and two RBI on May 14 against Rochester. Last season, Marte hit .261 (93-357) with 15 home runs and 46RBI with Buffalo.
So far in 2007, Marte has hit .180 (9-50) with one home run and eight RBI in 16 games with Cleveland.
Perez has pitched in eight games with seven starts so far this season with Buffalo. He was 3-3 with a 3.66ERA (46.2IP, 53H, 27R, 19ER, 11BB, 31K).
