Tonight's Game: Gwinnett continues a season-long 10-game homestand (2-2 vs. LOU, 4 vs. TOL, 2 vs. CHA) tonight with the opener of a four-game series vs. the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers). After going 25-18 (.581, 1st in IL South) over their first 43 games this season, the G-Braves are 12-21 (.364) in their last 33 games. The club spent 63 days at or above .500 from 4/15 to 6/14 before falling below the mark on 6/15...Gwinnett has been below .500 for nine straight days. ï‚¡ GWN trails Durham (43-36) by 4.5 games for first place in the International League South Division. ï‚¡ GWN is tied for sixth in the IL Wild Card standings, 4.0 games behind leader Rochester (42-36). ï‚¡ With a win tonight, the G-Braves would improve to 16-6 all-time vs. the Toledo Mud Hens at Coolray Field (4-0 in 2009, 2-2 in 2010, 1-3 in 2011, 4-1 in 2012, 4-0 in 2013).

G-Braves Break Out in Finale vs. Bats: Powered by a six-run eighth inning, the G-Braves routed the Louisville Bats 8-1 yesterday afternoon at Coolray Field, splitting the four-game series. RHP Gus Schlosser (W, 4-3) cruised through a season-high 7.0 IP, allowing a run on four hits. He was backed by an RBI single from Jose Constanza (4-for-5, R, 3 RBI) in the third inning and a go- ahead RBI double by Todd Cunningham (2-for-4, 2B, R, RBI) in the sixth inning. Gwinnett broke the game open against the Louisville bullpen in the eighth, scoring five runs off RHP Curtis Partch and one more off RHP Nick Christiani. Steve Lerud (0-0, RBI) drew a bases-loaded walk, Constanza added a two-run single and Tyler Pastornicky (1-for-4, RBI) reached on an infield single to plate another run. RHP Jair Jurrjens (L, 1-3) took the loss for the Bats with two runs on nine hits over 6.1 IP. RHP Terry Doyle (H, 1) and RHP James Hoyt combined on 2.0 scoreless innings to finish the win. ï‚¡ GWN's eight-run total was their most runs scored in a game since 5/27 at Pawtucket (won 8-3). ï‚¡ GWN's seven-run winning margin was their largest in a game since 4/29 at Toledo (won 9-2).

Halting the Drought: Prior to yesterday's eight-run outburst (.400, 12-for-30, 2B, 7 RBI), the Gwinnett offense had combined to hit just .234 (191-for-812) with 43 extra-base hits and 63 runs scored over their previous 25 games (8-17 in that span). The G-Braves were out-scored 97-63 (averaged 2.52 runs per game) and were shut out five times, including 5/28 at Pawtucket (3-0), 5/30 at Rochester (7-0), 6/5 vs. Columbus (6-0), 6/14 at Louisville (1-0) and 6/16 at Indianapolis (3-0).

Constanza, the Catalyst: OF Jose Constanza matched a season high with four hits (4-for-5) and set a season high with three RBI in yesterday's game. It was his most RBI in a game since 4/1/12 at Norfolk, when he drove in four runs (3-for-4, 2B, 3B, 3 BB) in a 14-12 win in 11 innings. ï‚¡ Constanza ranks among IL leaders in stolen bases (4th, 16) and lowest TPA/SO ratio (5th, 9.74). ï‚¡ Yesterday was his franchise-leading 315th game as a G-Brave. Constanza also leads Gwinnett (2009-current) in at-bats (1,250), hits (370), triples (13), runs scored (173) and stolen bases (74).

Quality Stretch: RHP Gus Schlosser earned his first win since 5/27 at Pawtucket yesterday, working a season-high 7.0 IP (4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO, 88 pitches, 60 strikes). Including his outing, GWN starters are 1-0 with a 1.71 ERA (5 ER in 26.1 IP) in four quality starts on the homestand. ï‚¡ RHP Cody Martin (ND, 6.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 6 SO) turned in his team-leading seventh quality start on 6/20 vs. Louisville...he's 1-1 with a 0.96 ERA (2 ER in 18.2 IP) in his last three starts. ï‚¡ LHP Daniel Rodriguez (ND, 6.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO) worked his first quality start since 5/26 at Pawtucket on 6/21 vs. Louisville...he had been 0-5 with a 7.47 ERA in his previous six outings. ï‚¡ RHP Yunesky Maya (ND, 6.2 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO) saw his team-best 16.0-IP scoreless streak snapped on 6/22 vs. Louisville, but still earned his sixth consecutive quality start...he's 2-1 with a 1.41 ERA (6 ER in 38.1 IP) in that span. Maya ranks fourth in the IL in ERA (2.38).

Gosselin Among Leaders: INF Phil Gosselin went 1-for-5 yesterday, holding him at third in the International League in batting (.326). He also ranks among IL offensive leaders in hits (T-1st, 89), doubles (T-6th, 18), total bases (8th, 116) and triples (T-12th, 3). ï‚¡ Gosselin is batting .417 (10-for-24, 2 2B, R, RBI, SB) on an active six-game hitting streak.

ï‚¡ After batting a combined .333 (66-for-198, 14 2B, 2 3B, HR, 27 R, 13 RBI) in his first 48 games this season, Gosselin is batting .307 (23-for-73, 4 2B, 3B, 9 R, 4 RBI) in 20 games in June.
