SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls have finalized their Opening Night player roster, the West Coast Hockey League club announced today. Among those players will be 19 skaters (12 forwards, seven defensemen) and two goaltenders:

The Gulls entered training camp with 27 players. WCHL rules allow for a 20-man active roster with one player on injured reserve. Among those released as of today are forwards Mark Pederson and Martin St Amour; defensemen Jeff Sanders and Bryan Vines; and goaltenders Jan Muenster and Jason Stone.
San Diego opens the regular season Saturday against the Long Beach Ice Dogs at the Sports Arena. Gulls caps, presented by Pro Specialties Group, will be given out to the first 10,000 fans. Magnetic schedules, courtesy of Holiday Inn Select, will be given to the first 5,000 fans. ZooperStars! will provide the intermission entertainment. It will also be KGB Night.
