SAN DIEGO, CA - Sam Carrick and Adam Cracknell led a three-goal third period for the San Diego Gulls (29-16-6) on Saturday night at Pechanga Arena, as the Gulls completed the comeback with a 5-4 victory over the San Antonio Rampage (25-24-5).

The Rampage held a 2-0 lead in the second period and a 3-2 lead in the third, but they could not hold on as they fell to 2-3-3 on the Rodeo Road Trip.

Mitch Reinke notched an assist for his 34th point of the season, tying the franchise record for points in a season by a rookie defenseman. Keith Yandle recorded 34 points as a rookie during the 2006-07 season. Reinke leads all AHL rookie defensemen in scoring.

With the Rampage leading 3-2, former Rampage forward Ben Street bounced a pass between the circles for Carrick, who lifted a shot past Jared Coreau to tie the score with his 27th goal of the season at 6:37 of the third.

At 10:45, the Gulls took their first lead when Kevin Roy's left-wing shot created a rebound that Cracknell finished for his 12th of the season to make it 4-3.

Justin Kloos added an empty-net goal at 18:40 to make it 5-3. With 20 seconds remaining, Chris Thorburn brought the Rampage back within a goal with a one-timer from the slot for his second goal of the season. Jordan Nolan had a final chance in the closing seconds, but his shot from the right circle missed the net wide.

The Rampage opened up a 2-0 lead in the second period with a pair of power play goals exactly two minutes apart. With Jack Kopacka in the box for four minutes for high-sticking, Ryan Olsen wrapped a puck to the front of the net for his eighth goal of the season at 7:57. At 9:57, on another power play, Nolan beat Gulls goaltender Jeff Glass from just above the goal line in the right-wing corner for his 13th of the year.

The Gulls struck back with two goals 15 seconds apart to tie the score. At 15:47 of the second, a Rampage turnover from behind the net found Roy in front and he beat Coreau for his first goal of the season. At 16:02, Simon Benoit slid a shot along the ice from the left-wing boards that handcuffed Coreau and slid inside the left post for Benoit's second of the year, tying the game 2-2.

San Antonio regained the lead at 1:03 of the third when Trevor Smith forced a turnover at the Gulls line and created a 2-on-0, with Bobby MacIntyre finishing for his sixth goal of the season.

The Rampage have five power play goals over the last two games.

The Rampage continue their road trip on Tuesday with their first ever visit to Budweiser Events Center to face the Colorado Eagles. Puck-drop is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. CT, with the game available on the Ticket 760AM and on AHLTV.
