Rochester Americans News Release
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed goaltender Adam Wilcox to a one-year, two-way contract with an AAV of $650,000. Wilcox will be placed on waivers with the intent to be loaned to the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Wilcox (6'0", 189 lbs., 11/26/1992) has posted a 9-7-3 record in 21 games for the Americans this season. Through two seasons with Rochester, the South St. Paul, Minnesota native has appeared in 50 games, logging a 21-14-10 record. He made his NHL debut in the 2017-18 season with Buffalo, stopping all 14 shots he faced in a relief appearance on April 7, 2018 against the Florida Panthers.
A sixth-round pick (178th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, Wilcox has compiled a 55-41-21 record with a .900 save percentage and a 2.87 goals-against average in 126 career AHL games.
Before beginning his professional career, Wilcox played three seasons for the University of Minnesota, where he was named the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2013-14 and backstopped the Gophers to two Big Ten regular-season titles and one Big Ten Tournament title.
