Matt Kennedy- Guelph Storm Rogers Performer of the Month and nominee for OHL Performer of the Month
Kennedy was named the Guelph Storm's Performer of the Month after recording 19 points in 12 games throughout January. The Horseshoe Valley native tallied eight assists and 11 goals, eight of those 11 were scored on the powerplay. The 19 year old was awarded with four first and two second star honours throughout the month.
As of February 6th, Kennedy has 27 goals and 25 assists for 52 points. The fourth year forward leads his team in goals with 27and is second in assists with 25. With 15 of his 27 goals scored with the man advantage, the 19 year old not only leads his team, but the entire OHL in powerplay markers. In 50 games this year, Kennedy is producing at over a point per game pace, and has had 19 multiple point games.
Jake Fischer-Guelph Storm Rogers Goaltender of the Month and nominee for OHL Goaltender of the Month
Fischer was named the Guelph Storm's Goaltender of the Month after posting a 3-0 record, along with a 3.24 goals against average and 0.900 save percentage in three games played. The 19-year old netminder was also awarded with 1st star honours in the Storm's 6-3 win over the Owen Sound Attack.
As of February 6th, the Belle River native has a record of 6-3-0-1, a goals against average of 3.03 and a save percentage of 0.901.
Josh Shalla Guelph Storm Rogers Rookie of the Month and nominee for OHL Rookie of the Month
Shalla was named the Guelph Storm's Rookie of the Month after recording three goals and two assists, the most by any first year Storm player.
Since being acquired at the trade deadline from the Brampton Battalion, the Whitby native has picked up four points in eight games. So far this season Shalla has 13 goals and six assists and is leading all Guelph Storm rookies in scoring with 19 points.
Nathan Martine- Guelph Storm Rogers Defenceman of the Month and nominee for OHL Defenceman of the Month
Martine was named the Guelph Storm's defenceman of the month after leading all Guelph Storm defenceman in scoring with seven points. He was awarded with the 3rd star of the game in the Storm's 5-4 win over the Plymouth Whalers. The Port Colborne native is second on the team in plus/minus with a rating of +12.
So far this season, the 20 year old has one goal and 12 assists for 13 points in 50 games played.
