Guelph Claims 3-2 Shootout Victory

The Guelph Storm claimed a 3-2 shootout victory over the Kitchener Rangers before a crowd of 6,424 fans at The Aud.

Jeff Skinner scored the lone goal of the first period at the 29 second mark to put the Rangers up 1-0.

Michael Latta answered back for the Storm with an un-assisted goal that went past the glove side of Parker VanBuskirk at the 12:11 mark of the second period. Skinner responded with 7.7 seconds left in the period to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead.

Nathan Martine tied the game 2-2 on a Storm power play at the 17:21 mark of the third period to push the game into overtime.

The overtime period remained scoreless and the game was pushed into a shootout.
