(EVANSVILLE, Ind.) - The Normal Cornbelters received a strong pitching performance and timely hits in a 9-4 win against the Evansville Otters on Friday night.

The Normal bats awakened in the third inning when Steven Alexander scored a pair of runs on a single to center field. The CornBelters never surrendered the lead as they received home runs from Asif Shah and former Evansville Otters outfielder Ross McCoy in the 9-4 victory.

Down 9-1, Evansville received a late three-run double from Greg Alexander but the Normal Cornbelters relievers were able to close the door in the final innings for the win.
