
Grrrowl drop 2-1 decision to Everblades on late goal

GREENVILLE, SC â Florida Everblades forward Ryan Murphy scored two goals, including the game-winner with just :32 seconds left in the third period, as the Greenville Grrrowl dropped a 2-1 decision in front of 5,204 at the BI-LO Center Saturday night. The Everblades are now 10-0-2 in their last 12 games.
Murphy opened the scoring with his first of two goals on the night and 14th of the season at 12:59 of the first period. JUDD MEDAK tied the game at 1-1 with his 12th goal of the season at 18:39 of period one. There was no scoring in the second or third periods, until Murphy beat MICHAEL GARNETT for the game-winning goal with just :32 seconds left on the clock. These teams will meet 4 more times in the regular season with all 4 games scheduled at TECO Arena in Estero, Florida beginning on January 24th. The Everblades outshot the Grrrowl, 38-24.
Greenville returns to action on New Years Eve (Tuesday) as they travel to Cricket Arena to face the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 PM (Newsradio 1330 & 950, WORD). The Grrrowl's next home game is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, January 5th against the Pee Dee Pride (3:05 PM).
