Growlers Wrangle Rafters on Cowboy Monkey Rodeo Night

Kalamazoo, Mich - The Kalamazoo Growlers (10-14) have upended the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (6-18) by a sore of 3-2 in their sixth meeting of the season which makes the Growlers 4-2 against the Northwoods League South Division opponent.

Growlers pitching vastly improved from last night's 14 hit bruising, only giving up eight tonight.

Ryan Smoyer (University of Notre Dame) gave the Growlers a solid start, he went seven innings and allowed six hits with just one run, Smoyer was given the well-deserved win and improves to 2-0 on the season.

John Rubino (Eastern Michigan University), Jared Kujawa (Western Michigan University), and Jesse Puscheck (Canisus College) added hits for the Growlers, Puscheck lifted a solo home run over the right field fence into the Bells Bear Cave in the 5th inning.

The Growlers head to La Crosse, Wisconsin to take on the La Crosse Loggers (15-8) tomorrow, in the first of a four game road stint in The Badger State.

The Growlers kick off their next homestand on Tuesday June 24th against the Kenosha Kingfish at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday Brewsday presented by Bell's Brewery is half off on all Bell's beer. Also, the Growlers will host Little League Night with a pre-game parade for teams.
