Grote Activated from DL

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Wednesday that Charleston RiverDogs outfielder Taylor Grote has been activated from the DL.

Grote, a Texas native, was batting .242 with six runs, six RBI and one home run through his first 19 games this season before being placed on the DL on May 1. The Yankees' eighth round selection in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft opened the season with a five-game hit streak.

The RiverDogs wrap up the 2010 campaign with an eight-game homestand starting Monday, Aug. 30 against the Greenville Drive at 7:05 p.m. For more information on tickets visit www.riverdogs.com or call the RiverDogs' box office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647).
