West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (2-1) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (2-1) 3-2 Wednesday night at Maverik Center.

Captain Nick Tuzzolino scored the game-winning goal with 58.8 seconds left in regulation to break a 2-2 tie. Justin Dowling won the face-off to setup the goal and Podge Turnbull got the puck to Tuzzolino on the far point for the blast through traffic.

For the second-straight contest, Utah never trailed in the game after jumping up 1-0 in the first period on a five-on-three power-play goal slapped in by Ryan Turek from the left circle. John Negrin and Mitch Fadden recorded assists. Utah outshot Bakersfield 14-2 in the opening frame and 46-27 in the game.

Bakersfield tied the contest at one in the second period at 8:20 of the frame on a power-play goal. Matt Reber gave Utah their lead back as he slammed in his own rebound to finish an odd-man rush with the Grizzlies shorthanded. Derick Martin created the neutral zone turnover and Jeff Lovecchio got the puck to Reber.

Tuzzolino's game-winning goal came 10:41 after the Condors tied the contest at two in the second period.

Goaltender Andrew Engelage stopped 25 of 27 shots from Bakersfield, including 23 of 25 over the final two periods to collect Utah's second-straight win.

The Grizzlies return home Friday to complete their two-game series with Bakersfield. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. After the game, fans are invited to skate on the ice for free. Skate rental is $2.
